I found your blog when I googled “fabula est vestri.” I am an American, a midwesterner who caught wind of the D:boys back in ’98, and instantly they became one of my faves {and eventually, my all time favorite}. Over the years I traveled over a 5-state region to see them whenever they were near. Estimate that I saw them around 12 times, including in Chicago last September. I would have given anything to have been at the Apollo last November, if it were possible. I am grateful that they have filmed it for the masses.

I leave you with this: over the years I have seen many of the greats perform in rock, blues, and Christian music — Clapton, U2, Yes, EL&P, Jeff Beck, and yes, even Led Zeppelin on their final tour (that dates me a bit, yes?) — and of the hundreds of performances I have attended, the Delirous shows were the most moving and memorable of them all. The Holy Spirit was truly with them. I doubt that anyone will ever be able to fill the void. Thanks for your blog and pics.

My favourite part was when I turned a corner at high speed, encounter a horse in front of me and had to slide the back end out to avoid it!

I have often struggled witg this, but there are two things you need to take away from the experience. The first was for me learning to love who I am, which is easier to say than do believe me, but once you have a new outlook on things mentally takes place..don’t get me wrong its still hard at times. 2 is to actually bite the bullett there are lots of ways to meet new people including fusion101.com the taboo of internet dating sites has long gone – part of the process of meeting the right one inevitably means meeting a few who arent.right dont take that as a personal dig, but as an expeeience!

Hi Gareth, I did the end-to-end about 11 and a half years ago. Admittedly I was a bit younger than you are now, and I wouldn’t say it was easy but not the hardest thing in the world either. Me and a mate from work went from John O’groats to lands end in ten days in a trip that totalled 955 miles. We decided to go that way because my mate thought it better to finish at lands end where at least there is something to do. Scotland was the hardest part and took us 4 and a half days to complete. We took the C2C route through which was picturesque but not the most direct. Going over Glen Shee was memorable. We made up good ground the first full day in England when we cycled from Penrith (over shap fell) to Middlewich (about 115 miles). To train for this I started cycling to work (about 18 miles each way) about 3 times a week. Then we started meeting up at weekends and doing progressively longer rides until we could manage a 100 miles. Finally a couple of weeks before we planned to start we booked 3 days off and did 3 100 mile rides each day to see if we were up to it. One important factor in our success was support. We had friends (Mark Danks, Ian Whitby and Sean Farrelly plus another work colleague) who each did a stint supporting us by car, stopping at intervals with food and drink, and extra gear so that we didn’t have to carry anything extra on our backs. They also went ahead and found us a B&B for the end of the day. It was one of my proudest achievements and I can thoroughly recommend it. Do it – you’ll never forget it.

Hi Gareth.This is a 1st for me, commenting on your blog..but both your last 2 blogs have so touched me. I really mean this when I say you are a fine catch for any young woman, your good looking (now what have i said that for !!, but you are) you have a good personality & i'm sure there is someone out there for you, I'm going to pray about that,(now you can really get worried) and also about your emotions concerning your Dad. Sometimes we have to face things that are hard..but God usually allows us to learn something from them that eventually make us stronger. Take Care Gareth hope you dont mind me commenting.

Yeh, I bought the album, and I like it. I guess some of the tracks sound a bit samey, but they have got a very distinctive guitar sound so that's probably going to come through. Well worth a listen at least!

i played my guitar for the first time last week! I never would have thought it. I do BVs in Jon Hodge's band now. I like it.

hehe… my job has its good and bad bits! No days off and working through the night to hit deadlines isn't one of the fun elements!! It's even worse for James 'cos he's married!

Though the degree thing has nothing to do with it… I didn't do any of this at uni, even though it was what I've always wanted to do! Loads of people I know who went to uni now do totally different work compared to what they studied!
